The Contrail carries factory numbers of 6/5/0/2, but nobody who has thrown one believes the glide or the zero turn. In practice it flies notably overstable with a flat top that kills glide, showing no high-speed turn and a firm, reliable fade — testers regularly re-rate it closer to 6/3/0/3. The flat, high-wing, beadless-feeling profile flexes back out of anhyzer instead of holding it, which makes it behave like a sub-120g utility/approach disc rather than the straight beginner driver the stamp promises.
What to Expect
The Contrail demands a controlled, flat release with moderate power to avoid grip lock issues. In the air it resists turn and sits flat, refusing to hold any anhyzer line. It finishes with a dependable fade and lands predictably without excessive skip.
Brand Context
Guru is a Norwegian operation out of Oslo, where it traces its roots back to 1986 and an orange frisbee called the Coupe imported by Eirik Petersen. That early scene gave rise to Sune Sport, founded by freestyle world champion Sune Wentzel, and Guru Discs grew out of it as a disc golf venture in 2016. The brand still calls Oslo home, with its shop landing at Østre Aker vei in 2012.
